Rainie Crawford,PSA-MP

Rainie Crawford, a Connecticut native, has worked primarily in soft pastels since the 1990s, with still lifes and florals her preferred subject matter. Rainie’s award-winning work has been featured in art magazines and in several books, including Pure Color Best of Pastel (2006), L'art du Pastel (2005), 100 Ways to Paint Still Lifes and Florals (2004), and The Best of Pastels 2 (1998).

Rainie feels that mood and interpretation are two of the most important elements of successful art-making, particularly in still life studies. She relies on remaining flexible in her painting process, and is willing to alter an arrangement at any stage of an effort.

Rainie’s paintings are included in the permanent collections ofthe New Britain Museum of American Art (CT), the Butler Institute of AmericanArt (OH), the Akland Museum of Art (NC), the New Haven Paint and Clay Club (CT), and in numerous private collections.
